Blue’s latest promo directed by Godman’s, Howard Greenhalgh, is a testimony to creativity and Rushes skill at its very best. With a modern ‘West Side Story’ flavour the promo was shot in Prague using the super slo-mo data camera ‘Phantom V5’. Greenhalgh captured the chaos of being in the middle of a street fight or organised riot with fire and water cascading around the musicians and other performers.

Inferno operator Derek Moore crafted these along with more traditionally shot 16mm footage, grading and treating the video material so that it cut together seamlessly. The excitement and energy in this promo was achieved through stripping in layers of fire, water and people that increased the sense of danger, and a big crowd replication shot underneath a helicopter flying in such slow motion that the rotor blades barely seem to turn.
Derek added slo-mo spiralling rain drops with Inferno's particle system, and built a tornado with up to 40 layers of computer generated images, this was helped along by a few more particle streams and some smoke shot against a black background.
