Tud Dret - Alcindo

Tud Dret, which translates as 'it's all good', is a Cape Verdean philosophy that combines creativity with positivity. Making ‘Tud Dret’ a suitable name for a new initiative established by founders Roger Serrasqueiro (Director at Garage Films), Andre Moreira (Creative Director at Havas London), Deny Obradovic Duarte (Creative Director at 32 Cabo Verde) and Johan Lopes Helgesson (Creative Technologist at Adobe Systems Sweden), with the goal of turning that mindset into a global platform, born to support and tell real stories, of real people, solving real problems.

The first project the Tud Dret initiative has turned its eye upon is the inspiring story of Alcindo – a 43 year old Cape Verdean construction worker who had the brilliant idea of turning the rubbish he saw washing up on the sands of the Sal Island, into a very special gym. The resulting film, Directed by Roger Serrasqueiro and graded by Rushes Denny Cooper, is a beautiful and touching portrait of a man who wants to give back to the island and the community he loves, combining the creativity and positivity, which has allowed a small country in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean to push through difficulties with a perennial smile on the face of its people.
