Rushes completed a speedy turnaround on colour grade and VFX for the latest inspirational Nike promo for the Champions League Final Manchester United Vs FC Barcelona football match that was played on Saturday 28th May 2011.
The work depicts a series of intense portraits, focusing on players from each team. Light and graphic streaks of colour cut through the dark to reveal the players. The graphics incorporate the team’s colours and branding in an intuitive and collaborative manner conveying the inseparable passions of the players and their unquestionable commitment to this prestigious game.
At the centre of this piece is a strong script delivered powerfully my each player with a very clear message at its heart, ‘Glory Is Ours’. This is something that Anthony Dickenson passionately points out, ‘through this film I wanted to convey the global mutual respect that both of these teams deserve. Whichever team emerges victorious, each is equally worthy of the title. A marriage of interests brought together in Wembley on the 28th May 2011, shared by their sponsor, Nike.’
The spot played once on ITV and Sky Sports, during the match, and is globally available online.
The speedy turnaround was concluded with the finished work being supplied for upload to YouTube complete with a glass of bubbles in hand to toast the 24/7 nature of the product.
