Hip Hop artist Future enlists mega pop stars of the moment Miley Cyrus and Mr Hudson in the new Rankin directed, Prometheus-inspired space oddity promo for 'Real and True' - an intergalactic love song.

Taking inspiration from some sci-fi classics, the narrative finds Future and Mr Hudson on an alien planet searching for life following a spaceship crash. They find our heroine, ‘girl of the moment’ Miley Cyrus amongst the debris. Taking her back to their ship where Miley, as the beguiling alien, absorbs the ships power and exhibits a strange hold over the personnel and ship.

The music video was graded at Rushes by colourist Simona Harrison, “Working with Rankin to help him achieve his vision was a great experience, as always. The film has a high contrast feel, with dramatic lighting around the performers creating strong shadows and silhouettes. Blue, white and silver accented by sparkles is the overall mood of the film, with use of vignettes for the spaceship interior scenes.”

The Rushes VFX team led by Jonny Hicks, Emir Hasham and Glenn Cone, created the required effects including enhancing the space like environment and bringing Miley to extra-terrestrial life with halo and lighting effects. All completed in just one week.

Additional effects work was completed by James Dooley and Andy Barnard. Digital matte painting and motion graphic animation for the monitors seen on set in the control room was created by Rushes MGFX designer Barry Corcoran.
