World-renowned photographer Rankin directs a new ad for Scottish Whisky brand The Macallan, alongside View Creative. ‘Project Double Cask’ celebrates the release of their new Double Cask 12 Years Old. The spot, created for Asian TV, digital and cinemas, turns the alcohol ad into a more high fashion-like storytelling piece of creative.

The visionary world in the spot, graded by Rushes Simona Cristea, highlights the two sides of The Macallan of one part art and one part science, to show users the craft of the drink via a film that's highly visual and based off a story.

Rankin explains, “The Macallan are one of the most forward-thinking and imaginative drinks brands out there. They’re never afraid to stand tall and be brave.”

Talking about the brand’s aim with the new campaign, The Macallan creative director, Ken Grier adds, “It has a contemporaneity, pace and striking visual appeal that sets it apart in the highly competitive world of international luxury spirits. I have always loved working with Rankin, ever since our first Masters of Photography project almost a decade ago. Like great Scotch whisky, he just keeps getting better and better as he matures.”
