Ballantine's Scotch whisky heads to space to show the world INSA’s unique Space GIF-ITI via M&C; Saatchi Sport & Entertainment and Cap Gun Collective.
After a year in planning globally renowned artist INSA, Ballentine's whisky and M&C Saatchi Sports & Entertainment have pulled off a first with the world’s largest animated GIF and proved it by capturing the image from space.
The giant animated artwork – the most ambitious of its kind ever attempted – was painted on the ground in four stages over four days and measured a total of 57,515m squared. The images, inspired by INSA’s iconic ‘Looking For Love’ motive were then captured by a satellite orbiting 431 miles above the planet before being converted into the final product.
‘INSA’s Space GIF-ITI’ is the third in a series of collaborations between Ballantine’s and unique talent from around the world who define Ballantine’s mantra of ‘Stay True’ and whose stories are showcased in unique films featuring projects inspired by their personal styles, talents and beliefs. Previous collaborators include leading African DJ and producer, Black Coffee (‘Human Orchestra’).
The film was shot by Cap Gun Collective directing duo Novemba. Commenting on working with Rushes colourist Simona Harrison they said, “It was great working with Simona again on our latest film. We have a longstanding creative partnership with her, she's a fantastic collaborator, and always brings fresh ideas into the room. All of this is evident once again, in this latest piece for Ballantine's.”
