Award Wins for Rushes VR Garden

‘The Life Garden’, a VR experience created by Atomic London and realised by Rushes, has been gaining well deserved attention at some high profile awards shows recently, winning an amazing four awards and shortlisted for a further three across multiple categories at awards shows including the Ciclope Festival of Creativity, the Direct Marketing Association Awards, and at the IAB’s Creative Showcase. Huge congrats to Rushes Head of CG Andy McNamara and the entire team.

At the DMA Awards it won gold for 'Best Use of Experiential' and two bronze awards for 'Best Use of Technology' and 'Best Creative Solution or Innovation' as well as being shortlisted in the 'Charity' category. The project also won an award for 'Creative Campaign for a Cause' at the IAB Showcase awards and was nominated for 'Most Creative Use of Emerging Technology'. Not only that, 'The Life Garden' was a finalist at the Ciclope Awards, in the 'VR Pre Rendered' category of the Experimental Design section!

It’s no surprise it has proved so popular - it’s a beautiful and touching project to celebrate and thank over 100,000 people who have left a gift in their Will to the charity, transporting them to a reflective space. Containing over 100,000 flowers, each representing every person who has left something, the virtual garden consists of eye-catching visuals and sounds, bringing to life a multi-sensory immersive experience. Created for the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, where visitors to the show garden were invited to walk through a stunning physical flower space before having the opportunity to put on a headset and be transported to the VR ‘Life Garden’, and where it also picked up a Bronze Show Garden Medal, the virtual garden was a popular feature at a number of CRUK tribute events across the country at special legacy events.
