Rushes deploy VR workflow to grade immersive 360° campaign film for Honda, created in partnership with Digitas LBi and realised by director Justin Hackney at Mad Cow Films. The launch of Honda’s ‘Real View Test Drive’, graded by Simona Cristea, marks its biggest-ever European content programme.
Honda works with global marketing and technology agency Digitas LBi to create a platform to bring the test-drive experience to life. Their ‘Real View Test Drive’ content platform offers potential Honda buyers a unique, immersive experience of the Honda vehicle of their choice, so prospective customers can truly experience and understand what it’s like to drive a Honda, without even setting foot in a showroom.
‘The drive’ offers a real-life first-person test-drive narrative experience. To help realise the film Rushes utilised a new VR grading workflow, enabling the unwrapped 360 footage to be graded on our Davinci Resolve suites. Playback of the graded film for viewer review is then enabled using the Oculus Rift and Go Pro player, with the clients in the suite.
The immersive Honda Civic 5 Door 360° experience (playable via the Youtube embed above), is accompanied by a linear version of the campaign film, also graded by Simona, which can be viewed here.
Further VR films will be created for each of Honda’s other key models: the CR-V, the HR-V and the Jazz. With the content housed on Honda’s digital platforms, across 22 European markets, with additional activity on YouTube and other social channels.
