Rushes Film&TV have completed over 50 shots on Henry V, part of the cultural Olympiad and the BBC’s Shakespeare season of history plays, “The Hollow Crown”. The VFX work consisted of creating full CGI versions of the French and English armies at Agincourt, completing all the arrow shots in CG, replicating live action soldiers and cavalry, matte painting, ship additions and more besides.
Jonathan Privett VFX supervisor comments, “It was an honour to be asked to work on such a prestigious production which came in partly via the recommendation of 1st AD George Walker. Our aim was to make sure the spell is not broken for the viewer, so much of the work had to be “invisible”.
Thea Sharrock, director and Rupert Ryle-Hodges, line producer were fantastically supportive and we worked in collaboration to deliver precisely what they wanted within the limits of the budget. The end result is that our work slots seamlessly into this brilliantly evocative and powerful film without disturbing the flow of the narrative.”
