RUSHES
COMPLETE ‘DANCER’S BODY’ LONGFORM PROJECT FOR
BBC
The ‘Dancer's
Body ‘ is a three part landmark series for BBC2 which Deborah
Bull, former prima ballerina with the Royal Ballet, narrates. Deborah
also performs exquisite ballet sequences within the series. The
series breaks new ground in creating a bridge between science and
the performing arts, making the latter accessible to a wider audience.
The programmes
illustrate the science behind the performance. Stunning new ballet
arrangements have been commissioned for the series, which investigates
how elements of the human brain and body work together to make the
performance possible.
Rushes newly expanded 3D department have created a full skeleton,
brain, muscles, tendons and internal organs, which, when intercut
with live footage, demonstrate the extraordinary suppleness, strength
and agility of the dancer.
The first of
these 50 minute programmes will be going out on Saturday 21st September
on BBC2. |
