This offbeat promo sees director Mat Kirkby swap sunny Buenos Aires for a Catford old people’s home for his second Basement Jaxx video casting real-life street people with no previous acting experience, ex-prisoners and murderers star as the retirement village posse. The promo was also filmed in the East End at Domino Clubs and Social Clubs with the average age of the cast being 80.

Rula, the 20-year-old guest vocalist, was thrilled to be invited to star in the promo and having told her friends to keep their eyes peeled for her, ended up looking like an 80 year old Beyonce.
As part of the post work Duncan Malcolm from Rushes created magical pixie dust that was scattered around the bed, during Rula’s rather saucy scene.

Director Mat Kirby adds, “The whole idea of the promo was to make sure it had a celebratory feel to it and I wanted to show how important it was to take your youth with you.”
