Rushes Film & TV

Rushes ‘Film & TV’ is a boutique visual effects studio offering world class visual effects. The department provides a bespoke and personal service to film makers who want to create stunning results regardless of budget. Our success is based on combining knowledge of all the disciplines of visual effects: 3D, matte painting, compositing, physical effects and live action photography, ensuring the most appropriate solution is chosen for any given shot. Where others segregate artists into narrow specialisations Rushes encourages artists to think and work on all aspects of a production. This strategy concentrates on providing our clients with the best possible results irrespective of the methods employed, marking us out in an industry too often blinkered by narrow mindedness.

Rushes 'Film and TV' is overseen creatively by Hayden Jones and Jonathan Privett, with Production led by Louise Hussey. Between them Hayden and Jonathan have almost 20 years of experience in digital effects and have worked on everything from Hollywood blockbusters to independent short films. The department can accommodate up to 16 artists and boasts access to all the award winning software including Maya, Pixar’s Renderman, Shake, Boujou, Syflex, Massive Jet and Real Flow. Rushes also has its own studio space on Wardour Street allowing us to shoot bluescreen elements, physical effects or use our own motion control rig for model photography.

In 2001 Ascent Media acquired Rushes alongside film laboratories Todd AO and Soho Images, Academy award winning audio post house, Soundelux, post-house St. Anne’s and Digital Intermediate facility One. As a member of Ascent Media Group, Rushes can be linked into a package providing the post production of an entire project, from transfer of dailies, editing, digital intermediate, sound, negative cutting, DVD authoring and bulk printing.
